Here is a primer on how to read the 30 minute period updates from Moses.

Each 30-minute period of the day is denoted by the letters A-M, with A representing the first 30-minute segment, B the second, and so on. Each relative period is compared to the past 20-day average in the same period.

Column Explanation

OTF (One Time Framing)

One Time Framing is a term from market profiling that describes a market experiencing either a higher high and higher low, or a lower high and lower low in each subsequent time frame. This concept is often applied to 30-minute sessions but can be relevant any time frame as well. This column illustrates the one time framing activity for each ticker. For example, in the recent update, SPY, QQQ, and DIA displayed lower highs and lower lows, while IWM showed higher highs and higher lows in the last 30 minutes.

RVOL (Relative Volume)

Relative Volume measures the trading volume compared to the average volume for a given period. It helps determine whether the trading volume is unusually high or low, which indicates the market's commitment to a current price move.

For instance, in the latest data, the initial 30-minute period traded at only 75% of its average volume, while DIA exceeded its average by more than 175%. Generally, a higher RVOL suggests a strong commitment to the current price trend. Conversely, a lower RVOL may suggest a lack of commitment, potentially indicating an impending trend reversal or the start of a trading range.

RRANGE (Relative Range)

Relative Range assesses the strength or weakness of an instrument based on the recent volatility. RRANGE compares the current volatility to the respective period. High relative range could indicate that market conditions may be changing. The latest update shows that SPY and QQQ had smaller than average ranges, while DIA's range was close to average during the first 30 minutes.
